With our one-year anniversary round the corner in September, I am taking the time to reflect on Soul Skin’s journey so far, our achievements and plans for the future.
We had a fantastic start to the year trading at London’s historic Greenwich Market and various vegan events organised by companies like Be The Future and Vegan Markets UK, which were very successful for Soul Skin and key to building the foundations of the business to get us where we are today.
During the beginning of the covid crisis, when it was no longer possible to trade at markets and events, it became apparent to me how important it is to have a stronger online presence and that’s exactly what I’ve been working on over the last few months. Soul Skin has just recently undergone a complete rebrand of the logo, packaging, and website.
We’ve gone from strength to strength with only having one type of product available last year (our award-winning range of butters), to now having four skincare products with multiple variations across the range; Hand & Body Washes, Face & Body Scrub, Bath Salts and of course our butters. By the end of this year we will have six products, bringing our range up to 13, which will include a nourishing lip balm and face serum and next year the aim is to double that.
Everything has been formulated by myself after years of extensive research and making my own personal skincare products due to suffering from extremely sensitive skin and being allergic to parabens in food and cosmetics. Once a product has been tested by myself and our group of product testers, the products are then sent to lab to be chemically tested to ensure they are safe and stable and then the cosmetic safety report is issued deeming the products safe and suitable for sale.
In May this year we won the award for ‘Best Vegan Body Butter in England’ in the Health, Beauty & Wellness Awards presented by LUXlife. We have also this week just submitted some products into the beauty 2020 awards organised by Bella Magazine. Fingers crossed!
Next month, on 7th September, we will launch a pop-up shop in John Lewis Bluewater for one-week, celebrating organic beauty week and organised by the The Soil Association. This is a fantastic opportunity for us and a great platform. The dream is to have our items stocked in John Lewis and that can only happen if we have a successful week so please do support in any way you can whether that’s sharing content leading up to the event or popping in and purchasing something.
If you have sensitive skin, are looking for natural products that are free from chemicals, or registered vegan with The Vegan Society, please do try us out, you won’t be disappointed. We offer a 14-day money back guarantee if you’re not completely happy with your purchase.
